About Ken landin

A middle-aged man with gray hair and a serious expression stands in a workshop, holding a blueprint or plan. He wears a gray T-shirt layered over a blue long-sleeve shirt. A camera on a tripod captures him as he points towards a wall made of drywall panels. The background features a workbench with tools, jars, and various workshop supplies, and shelves with cables and equipment.

My name is Ken Landin, and I’ve been working in the drywall trade for over 40 years. Throughout my career, I’ve spent thousands of hours hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing drywall on all types of projects. Over time, I realized that one of the things I enjoy most about this trade is passing along the tips and tricks that I’ve learned from those that taught me.

Originally, I started creating these videos for the students I teach in Albany, New York. I wanted them to have a place they could come back to after completing my training programs - a resource where they could review drywall techniques, refresh their knowledge, and continue improving their skills as they gained experience in the field.

What started as a simple library of drywall training videos for my students quickly grew into something much bigger. As more people began watching the videos, it became clear that there was a real need for straightforward, practical guidance for beginners learning drywall. Homeowners, DIYers, and people interested in starting a career in the drywall trade were all looking for clear, honest instruction on how drywall finishing actually works.

That’s what Drywall With Kenny is all about.

My goal is to break down drywall finishing in a way that makes it easier to understand. Whether you're learning how to tape drywall, apply joint compound, sand walls smoothly, repair damaged drywall, or choose the right drywall tools, I want to help take the confusion and frustration out of the process.

This website serves as the main hub for everything related to Drywall with Ken. Here you’ll find links to all of my content, drywall tips and tutorials, information about training programs, and details about the services I offer. It’s also a place where viewers and students can ask questions and find the answers they need to keep improving.

Whether you're a beginner learning drywall for the first time, a homeowner tackling a DIY drywall project, or someone looking to get started in the drywall trade, I hope these resources help you build the skills and confidence to do the job right.
